Ballroom Marfa, in partnership with Sul Ross State University, proudly presents in our Voices, the World is Created, an inspiring pop-up exhibition featuring the work of undergraduate and graduate students from the fall Women in Art course at Sul Ross. Organized by Ballroom’s Felix Benton, Jaime Herrell, and Mo Eldridge, instructor of Art History at Sul Ross, this exhibition celebrates a semester-long journey of exploring artistic identity and expression as these students use this pop-up to present their end-of-year finals. The exhibition will be on view December 7-12, 2024.
Featured artists this semester include Karina Cantens, Vic Montilva, Emily Oyama, Sofia Gutierrez Gladwish, Julian Vidales, and Bella Stimpson.
Through ceramics, video, painting, mixed media, and sound, these artists delve into themes of personal history, intergenerational connections, and the transformative power of storytelling. Each work embodies intimate personal narratives with shared human experiences, blending visual works with audio recordings of conversations with loved ones—offering an immersive and moving exhibition as these students complete their fall semesters.
Join us in celebrating the voices of these emerging artists and the creative dialogue fostered between Ballroom Marfa & Sul Ross.
