Ballroom Marfa hosted the Fundred City-Wide Pickup Celebration. 

The event began at the Marfa National Bank with our official welcome to Mel Chin and his Fundred Guards. A funded parade with all members of the community left the bank for Ballroom Marfa. Finally Mel Chin and others spoke about the Fundred Dollar Bill Project and held the drawing for our Haiti benefit raffle. This event was free and open to the public.

Ballroom Marfa and our community partner Marfa Studio of the Arts’ SITES program (Studio in the Elementary School) participated in this project initiated by artist Mel Chin. The goal was to connect and collect voices from around the country to raise awareness and support a solution to lead-related health and quality-of-life issues still challenging post-disaster New Orleans. Marfa’s goal was the creation and collection of at least 1000 bills!
