Ballroom Marfa presented Joanna Newsom at the Crowley Theater on December 14, 2006.

Joanna Newsom is a harpist, pianist and song-writer based in San Francisco and one of the most prominent members of the “new folk” movement. Her second album, Ys, released on November 14, features orchestrations arranged by Brian Wilson collaborator, Van Dyke Parks.

Newsom rounded out her 2006 Fall tour with performances at The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburg, Webster Hall, in NYC, The El Rey Theatre, LA, and the Crowley here in Marfa.
