Artist Profiles

Mary Lattimore

Using a combination of harp and looping effects, Mary Lattimore plays half-structured improvisations which can include both ambient glitter and unsettling noise. Her performance at the Wrong Store at the 2016 Marfa Myths festival was among the highlights of the weekend. Lattimore’s album Hundreds of Daysopens with a song Pitchfork describes as “being placed in some alien terrarium” and “proof she has the skill to build new landscapes with her instruments.”

Julianna Barwick

Julianna Barwick, known for her mesmerizing looping effects, uses a combination of synthesizers, keyboards, and voice to capture audiences far and wide with a sound that has been described by the New York Times at “churchly and vaguely Renaissance, but also very now.”

Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center

Las Americas is an El Paso based non-profit dedicated to servicing the legal needs of low income immigrants, including refugees and asylum seekers, victims of crime, and families seeking reunification. Las Americas has reportedly provided legal care to over 12,000 low income immigrant residents in the El Paso area, but is quick to note that these clients are coming from all over the world, because El Paso is one of the highest ports of entry for the entire United States.
