The MARFA BIG READ, the reading program initiated by the National Endowment for the Arts, kicks off on January 10 at Ballroom Marfa with performances by Leah McWilliams and San Antonio folk singer, Azul.

On Saturday, May 9, 2009, Green Mountain's Super Earth mascot, along with representatives from Green Mountain, Ballroom Marfa, and members of the community were on hand to celebrate Ballroom Marfa's new solar panels.

The event will begin at the Marfa National Bank at 4:00 pm for our official welcome to Mel Chin and his Fundred Guards.

As part of Making Art Work, we hosted an in-class visit by the band Yeasayer at Marfa High School.

The Chinati Foundation and Marfa ISD, in collaboration with Ballroom Marfa and Friends of the Marfa Public Library, will host a public program and reception in honor of Marfa Junior/Senior High School's release of a new collection of student poetry.

We are honored to host visiting guitarist Sharon Isbin at Marfa Jr/Sr High School as part of our ongoing program, Making Art Work, on 14 February 2011.

On April 18, 2011, our Texas Biennial artist Alyce Santoro will visit Marfa Jr/Sr High School as part of Making Art Work.

The first in our lecture series features artist Kathleen Shafer, who will speak about her current work, which concerns airfields, airspace, Marfa's military history, the repurposing of spaces, and an examination of what constitutes the concepts of place and space within the fields of geography and art.

Ballroom Marfa was pleased to have Data Deluge artist Jennifer Dalton visit with art students at Marfa Senior High School as part of our Making Art Work program.
