We are honored to host visiting guitarist Sharon Isbin at Marfa Jr/Sr High School as part of our ongoing program, Making Art Work, on 14 February 2011.

Join us this spring break for our Student Haiku Poetry Workshop, hosted by visiting artist Dan Tague and arts educator Mallory Jones, from 15-17 March 2011.

On April 18, 2011, our Texas Biennial artist Alyce Santoro will visit Marfa Jr/Sr High School as part of Making Art Work.

The first in our lecture series features artist Kathleen Shafer, who will speak about her current work, which concerns airfields, airspace, Marfa's military history, the repurposing of spaces, and an examination of what constitutes the concepts of place and space within the fields of geography and art.

For the second year, Ballroom Marfa will present its popular week-long DJ Camp from July 18 - July 22, 2011 with instructor Faith Gay.

On August 8, 2011, Austin three-piece eets Feats will be stopping through town for one night only and blessing us with their awesome rock sounds. Show at 8:30 pm outside the Thunderbird Lounge.

Explosions In the Sky play some of the most passionate, powerful instrumental music you will ever hear. Equal parts romance and tragedy, their beautiful melodies have the tendency to ignite into head-spinning walls of noise. Twin Sister opens. Doors at 7 pm.

In celebration of the opening of our fall 2011 visual arts exhibition, AutoBody, Texas' finest all-female mariachi, Mariachi Las Alteñas, will play at the Capri, 30 September, 9:30 pm.

American avant-garde metal guitarist Mick Barr, notable for the speed and agility of his shredding, will perform at the opening of AutoBody, 30 September, 7 pm.

Ballroom Marfa is honored to present an evening with Tinariwen, renowned band of poet-guitarists, on Thursday, 3 November 2011, at the Capri in Marfa, Texas. Sophie Hunger opens the show. Doors at 7 pm.
