Back in January, Beach House assembled an all-star band to perform No Other, the 1974 cult album by founding Byrds member Gene Clark. The band included Beach House’s Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally, Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold, Grizzly Bear’s Daniel Rossen, the Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser, Iain Matthews of Plainsong/Fairport Convention, Wye Oak’s Jenn Wasner, plus members of Lower Dens, Cass McCombs’ band, Celebration, and Mt. Royal. The Gene Clark No Other Band embarked on a short East Coast tour that included a performance at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. Pitchfork.tv filmed that performance, and video of the whole show is now available.

Featuring Ballroom alums Beach House, Jen Wasner of Wye Oak, Daniel Rossen of Grizzly Bear, and members of the Cass McCombs Band. A fitting way to ring in the weekend.

As most readers of the Ballroom blog already know, Beach House is going to be playing here in Marfa on April 21, 2013 — pre-sale tickets are long gone, but we’ll be releasing a few standing-room only tickets at 7:30p the night of the show.

The Baltimore band is no stranger to West Texas, either, as they recorded Bloom, their lush 2012 album, at Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, one of the small border towns between Marfa and El Paso. The above clip is a teaser from “Forever Still”, a short film the band made during the recording process. It’s set to debut on Pitchfork.tv on February 4.
